When Google Calendar alone is enough.
Your schedule is mostly flights, appointments you book yourself, and a few recurring activities.
Both of you already check the shared calendar and add to it without being asked.
School communication is light, or arrives in an app that already syncs to your calendar.
You don’t want to pay for anything. Google Calendar is free and does its job well.
When adding Zazu makes sense.
The calendar is only accurate because one parent reads every school email and types it in. That parent is tired.
Things get missed because they were never on the calendar in the first place: the permission slip, the early dismissal, the costume day buried in paragraph four of a newsletter.

Does Zazu replace Google Calendar?
No. Zazu works with the email and calendar you already use. Google Calendar stays the place where the schedule lives.
Doesn’t Gmail already add events to my calendar?
Only some. Google adds reservations and ticketed events from confirmation emails: flights, hotels, restaurants, shows, medical appointments. It skips mailing-list emails and anything that isn’t a confirmation, which covers most of what schools send.
Can’t I just ask Gemini to do this?
You can ask Gemini to create an event from an email, and it works. You still have to open each email and ask. Zazu reads the inbox on its own, with your permission, and comes to you with what needs attention.
How much does each cost?
