You’re trusting Zazu with your family’s inbox and calendar. This page explains, in plain words, what that means. The full legal version is in our Privacy Policy.
What Zazu reads, and why.
Zazu reads your email, calendar, contacts and tasks only after you connect them, and only the parts you give permission for. Connecting an account is optional, and Zazu never sees your Google or Microsoft password. It reads so it can notice what needs attention: deadlines, forms, appointments, pickups, bills, renewals.
What Zazu never does.
It doesn’t reply, book or message anyone without asking a parent first.
It doesn’t sell your personal information.
It doesn’t use your data for advertising or to build advertising profiles.
It doesn’t use your Google data to train general AI models, and neither may the AI providers that work for us.
It doesn’t delete your emails or change emails you’ve already sent or received.
Where your data lives.
Your family’s data is stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) servers in the United States. It is encrypted when it travels and encrypted when it is stored.
The AI behind Zazu.
Zazu runs on AI models from leading US providers. When you ask Zazu to work with an email or an event, only the relevant part is sent to the AI provider, and only to produce your answer. The providers are named in our Privacy Policy.
Who can see your information.
Inside your family: what’s shared between parents, like the calendar and the school list, is visible to both. What’s personal to one parent stays with that parent.
Inside our company: people at Zazu don’t read your connected email or calendar data. The only exceptions are when you ask us for support on something specific, when we must investigate a security problem or a bug, or when the law requires it.
How long we keep it.
We keep your information while your account is active. Accounts with no activity for 12 months may be deleted automatically. After deletion, encrypted backups can hold data for up to 30 days before it is gone for good.
How to disconnect or delete.
To disconnect Google or Microsoft, tell Zazu “disconnect Google” or “disconnect Microsoft.” You can also remove access from your Google or Microsoft account settings.
To delete your Zazu account and your data, send STOP to Zazu, or email privacy@getzazu.io.
Children.
Zazu accounts are for adults. Children under 16 can’t create or use an account on their own. Parents can tell Zazu about their children, such as school, activities and appointments, so Zazu can help run the household, and that information is handled the same careful way as everything else.
Zazu is an AI.
Zazu is powered by artificial intelligence, and AI can occasionally get things wrong. That’s one reason it asks before it acts. Check anything important.
